Funding

The only structural funding the NBB receives is a small amount from the KNAW which only covers a minor part of the costs. The work of the NBB would therefore not be possible without the financial support of foundations, patients organizations and private individuals, and the contributions from researchers who receive brain tissue.

Grants

The NBB currently receives grants from:

Private donations

The work of the NBB is much appreciated, sometimes expressed in donations or bequests to the Stichting Vrienden van het Herseninstituut (foundation for support of the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience). The foundation guarantees and promotes the continuity of the activities of the NBB and the activities that relate to brain research.

Since January 2008, the foundation has been an “Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling” (Institution for General Benefit) by the Dutch Tax Authority. The assets of this Foundation are made up of donations, testamentary dispositions and legacies (Dutch Chamber of Commerce; registration no. 41205869).

Financial donations remain vital to the continued existence of the NBB and are very welcome! If you wish to help, please make your donation to: Stichting Vrienden van het Herseninstituut, IBAN: NL76INGB0002167378 (BIC/SWIFT code: INGBNL2A). Please mention "NBB" and your name, address and phone number. Because the foundation also raises money for the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in general, mentioning "NBB" ensures that the donation reaches us.
